If you missed our Tempura Haus review, go here.

For now, here are some pictures during the eat-all-you-can year end special that the place held last Saturday. They had a food tasting of the new stuff they're introducing on their menu such as the Serpent Maki, Grilled Salmon, and Crunchy Maki.

Tempura Haus also has a branch in Tacloban City, Leyte.

One of the new coffee bars in Ormoc City. A little farther from the city proper and most people who go there usually have their own mode of transportation (i.e. medical representatives and local businessmen). It is located in Badminton City, where Tempura Haus is also situated.

Noodle Boy says: The highlights of this venue are the beautiful ambience, great food/drinks, and fast wifi connection. The exterior design is amazing specially at night with their lights turned on and booming music at the background. The place is serene during late afternoons which is perfect for work and study. The most amazing GAMBAS I tasted is also here. The shrimps are incredibly huge while the taste is pretty distinct and mouth watering which makes you want more. The only downside here is the location and opening hours because they only open at 4pm to 1 am. Interior pics will be posted soon!

Ramen Girl says: Aside from the variety of drinks they have on their menu, they also have a lot of choices when it comes to the "pulutan". My favorite has got to the Sizzling Gambas which we are featuring here just because it is THE BEST one I've ever had in my life. Not exaggerating here. The shrimps are HUGE! Now only if they had rice on the menu when we went there, it would have been a real meal for me. The place has fast wifi connection, too, so you can work there. The place inside is Japanese inspired, meaning the tables are low and you have to sit on the floor or do a seiza. I forgot to take pictures inside. Maybe next time when I'm craving for their Gambas again. ;)

This restaurant in Don Felipe Hotel is probably one of the oldest ones in Ormoc City that offer real fine dining experience.

Noodle Boy says: Simply Amazing! The food is so awesome that it hits your stomach and soul at the same time. Classic venue that lies at the center of Ormoc City. Well, when you arrive in Ormoc by boat it's probably the first thing you will ever notice. The service here is still great as always. The steaks, kebobs, lengua and a whole lot more are to die for. The food I ate here when I was kid still taste the same as now. Now that's great quality control. A high majestic structure that I hold close to my heart because every time I see it... I know and feel I'm back in my hometown, I am home.

Ramen Girl says: This hotel reminds me a lot of my childhood because my family used to eat out a lot when I was little. We'd go to the hotel and have dinner after every mass during the weekends. I love their steaks to death and I think now I've come close to making gravy as good as they do. My dad loves their Peruvian steak (not quite sure if they still have that). Their steaks are still the best in town. Must-try for the carnivores.

Sabins Hotel is the perfect place to be, not just for their accommodations but also if you just want to spend a lazy afternoon drinking beer, eating pizza, and stuffing yourself with their infamous paella while checking Facebook with their reasonably fast wifi connection and a spectacular view of Ormoc Bay.

Noodle Boy says: Great Ambience with a spectacular view of Ormoc Bay. The sunset here is really extraordinary especially when you have someone to share it with. :) I was pretty disappointed by the service though, the crew is not professionally trained and it will take you a while to get what you want or need at the same time. For family occasions and gatherings, this place is highly recommended specially when you have visitors from out of town or abroad. An establishment the you can be actually proud of as an Ormocanon. Best place to rest and work at the same time because the internet connections there is quite stable and fast than other places in Ormoc City. So there you go... whether you just want to surf the net or check your mail for work, the place has it. All in all its one of the best that Leyte has to offer. :)

Ramen Girl says: My favorite pizza flavors are the Seafood and Supremo which comes in super thin crusts. You'll have to ask for a fork to eat it though so as to not make a mess. As for the paella, I recommend the Sol Y Mar which comes with seafood, chicken, and pork. I love working while in Sabins... can really get the job done while enjoying it! The place is huge if you try to explore it. Their swimming pool is among the best ones in the region and the hotel itself has a class of its own.

The only Japanese dining establishment in Ormoc City as of the moment. They offer affordable Japanese cuisine with a variety of noodles, sushi, sashimi, soups, tempura, rice toppings, et cetera. Their menu is a complete delight. The ambience is just perfect, with good lighting and comfortable seats.

Noodle Boy says: Great food with reasonable prices. This place actually makes you feel like you're not in Ormoc City! Access to the place maybe a little far from the city but the venue itself makes up for it. The staff is great and very friendly while the service is awesome and well-organized. If you're looking for great Japanese cuisine then this place is highly recommended.

Ramen Girl says: The best thing about this place is not really the food but the service and the staff. (Or maybe because I'm such a "suki" there already?) Anyways, lots of Japanese food choices in their menu at very good prices. The place quite small, can seat more or less 30 people inside but they got tables and chairs outside, too.
